Can Gastritis Cause Difficulty In Breathing?

Hello I'm a 38 year old male. 5 months ago I went for an upper GI because I was burping excessively, and had a nerve pit (butterfly feeling) in my stomach. The results were gastritis, and I was given Nexium to help control the symptoms. I was okay for a bit, and now the problem is back again. I have been eating properly (no fried foods), and slowly losing weight (I’m about 40 lbs. over weight). I’ve noticed when I have this feeling in my stomach, my breathing is affected. I have to take a deep inhale to get a full breath. Can gastritis affect breathing?

Hello,

Gastritis with esophageal reflux may cause aspiration, which may cause cough and aspiration pneumonia leads to dyspnea. But also check for respiratory causes for breathlessness like asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, effusion, et cetera. Anemia, anxiety may also cause dyspnea.

Use tablet Nexpro-l before breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
