Can Gallstones Alter Platelet Count?
Hi my dad went to the door with stomach pain. Higher up in the stomach. They ran blood work and there was an issue with the platelets. Dr said he thinks he has cancer. They did ultrasound and learned he had gallstones. Would gallstones cause the platelets issue. Would the platelet issue look the same for gallbladder as it would for cancer?

As of now, no known relation between gallstone diseases and platelets counts established. Sometimes, due to severe infection in gallbladder, platelets may go down.
