Can Avelox And Steroid Cause Soreness In Calf?
I was just walking in to work and noticed my calf was sore, then I heard/felt a pop and it has been hurting for the last couple of hours. I can still walk though it is quite painful to do so. I do not notice the pain as much at rest. I just finished a course of 10 days of avalox (antibiotic) and 6 days steroids for sinus issues, could this pain be a side effect of these medications, and is it something I should be concerned about?

It is a concern for drugs like Avelox when something goes pop. Both steroids and Avelox weaken tendons. There is a large amount of evidence on steroids. It is time dependent and needs weeks / months of use to weaken them. Some data on Avelox. This class of medicines is toxic to tendons / cartilage in the test tube. Some people on them have had tendons snap, cannot say if it isn't random.
