Can An Overdose Of Paracetamol Cause Weakness, Pale Face And Low Appetite?

my 15 yr old son with aspergers took 32 paracetamol tablets recently...not sure when I found the blister packet and he admitted the overdose to a triage mental health professional. Since then he has been poor, pale and has eaten less. I was likely to be 3 weeks ago or more. Will he have long term effects?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the high dose intake of paracetamol is likely to be associated with ill effects over the liver which is involved in major pathways of metabolism of various nutrients in the body. Kindly consult him with your primary care provider for further guidelines and cure accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
