Generally, yes. However, anyone about to undertake a new exercise plan--ESPECIALLY someone with health concerns, should consult with their own doctor before doing so. Your doctor, not anyone on the web, is the best person to answer this question for you. Good luck with improving your health! :)

Two years ago, my husband had a heart attack that the doctors called the widow maker . Having anxiety attacks , he has become a person that is hard to live with. I know this was dangerous, but he had good doctors, and a pacemaker. I am afraid this anxiety is going to cause another attack. He takes his blood pressure at least 15 times a day. When it reads high, it is more. He does no exercise, except walking through the house. A friend brought him a treadmill, which he has yet to use. He says it hurts him. I ve tried to get him to walk in the park, but he says it is either to hot or too cold . I changed his diet and he lost a several pounds. He is 62 now and weighs 164. He watches his salt and fat intake. Every pain he gets he says that it is the just like the one when he had his heart attack. We haven t had sex in over 2 years. He seems afraid. He does work, but it is nothing strenuous. At home he says he can t do anything as simple as fixing a leaking sink. I think he is his own worst enemy. I myself had a heart attack and 2 strokes and even though I may not have had it bad as him, I still try to do things around the house, work in the yard and walk in the park, and I have arthritis in both knees and have to walk with a cane. I tell him he is going to cause himself to have another heart attack. Could I be wrong? Or is he looking forward to having another one?

My father has re4cently had a pacemaker fitted. He has just had his first check-up with all being OK. They have said that he needs to increase his heart rate with small exercise, so he is looking into getting a treadmill but they say they have a magnet in the safety key which is quite close to his heart area. Is it safe for him to use a treadmill ?

My 88 year old, with chronic Arthritic back pain and has a pacemaker (which has never turned on on the 20 years she had this inserted, can she used a mattress with the infrared technology? It would be set at a 0 setting, which emits very little infrared heat.

I am having constant thudding heartbeats with irregular or skipped beats.
This has been going on for the last five hours . I can't sleep. It has been bad for the last two days but not constant as it is now . I'm worried. I can't fall asleep . I seem to lurch awake even as I drift off with another powerful rushing feeling of thudding in my chest and more skipped beats.
I have been complaining to my doctor for 12 years of irregular beats. I have had several ECG and scans and they always tell me there's nothing wrong with the functioning of my heart but I can't ignore these symptoms that don't go away. I believe my stressing over them makes them worse but it's a vicious circle. I am meant to be on Citalopram but took one tablet and woke up in the middle of the night clenching my jaw with skipping beats . Looking up the side effects/contra indications it says should not take if suffer any heart rhythms problems. Why is my doctor giving me these ? So I daren't take them for fear of making things worse but I do need an anxiolytic as prescribed.

Hi, I am 25 years old female. I had a sudden rapid heart beating followed by rapid breath taking and then my feet get cold. I have also headache and a bit nausea. I went to the hospital few days ago and they check me and says the lung function and ECG result are normal. The USG on the stomach also fine. The only thing they found is that I have low iron concentration in my blood (but not too low they said) and they give me iron pills. At first 4 days I am getting better but then I felt the first symptom again. Could you give me some explanation about my condition? And what should I do to prevent it occurs again? Thank you.
