Can NF1 Affect The Immune System?

my name is ashley smith and im 25 years old and i have nf1 and i stay sick alot with cold and sinus infections an respiratory infections and when i take the medicine that the doctor gives me it doesnt work or it it worse and i was just worndering if nf1 can or will effect the immune system.

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. The normal frequency of viral infection is 6 in a year. You should be worried but not too much. We don't have ideal antiviral therapy, that's why we don't see quick effect. Recklinghausen disease (NF 1) can affect immune system,but not at everyone. It can cause congenital immune deficiency. You can check your immunogramma to rule out following condition.
