Hello,

Consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an upper GI endoscopy. Conditions like lump or growth in the esophagus (food pipe has to be ruled out). An ECG also be done to rule out cardiac causes like angina even though it is unlikely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
