Can I Be Pregnant With Viable Fetus?

I am 35 years old with 1.64height, 62kil in weight and been trying to conceive since 2004. I ve had two sponteneous miscarriages in 2004, ectopic pregnancy in 2005, operatio to remove a very huge fibroid in 2007 and 2009. started ivf treatment in 2010 feb and july with both cycle failling. another ivf in 2011 march after an operative hesterouscopy was done on 23rd of feb 2011. 5eggs were retrieved on 14th of march and transfered on 17th(3days) with all having 7cell of good grades according to the embrayologist. preceisely on 2/4/11 i stated bleeding for three days and still tested positive to a home PT a week later. but my major concern now is that though am having all the signs of pregnancy the scan i did today reads the uterous is bulky and contains an irregular shaped gestation sac 17mm in GSD, cerresponding to a GA of 5w 6d +/- w. no fetal node is seen EDD=10/1/12. Repeat scan in3/52 for viabily my question now is can i still be pregnant with a viable featus?

Hallow Dear,

Thank you for the detailed history you have provided.

Irregular sac without foetal pole is a condition where the pregnancy is without baby formation. This condition in medical terminology is called as blighted ovum. Such pregnancy is non-viable pregnancy and does not continue. Usually it gets terminated naturally; if not, it has to be terminated.

I am sorry; please report this to your Gynaecologist who will take the indicated decision and will intervene accordingly.
