I ve recently been for two full blood counts, both of which show raised ESR (55) and slightly low Folic Acid. I ve also had a chest x-ray (results not back until next Friday) and have been prescribed Amoxicillin Capsules and Folic Acid Tablets. I m always racked with aches and pains, but this is the first time my ESRs been raised. Needless to say I m extremely frightened, as when you search the internet all the horrors appear (cancer, etc). How likely is it to be something really serious?
My mother is 55 years old. She is a diabtic patient. Her diabtes level is normal now. But some times she is getting fever. Her Health is also decreasing day by day. Hi, my wife had a raised ESR of 49, ANA positivity in dilution of 1:80 for past one year and a recent increse in CRP of 15. she was being thought of as an auto-immune patient and the cause was not known. Few days back, we stumbled upon high levels of Anti-TPO antibodies- 1000IU/ml and Anti-TPO antibodies-389.1. Her T3 is 2.8, T4 is 1.2 and TSH-1.1380. 18 months ago the Lipid profile is well within the limits. Lipid profile shows LDL of 142 and cholesteol of 198. QUESTIONS. 1. With these data, can we arrive at the diagnosis of Auto-immune thyroid disease like Hashimoto s. 2. If so, any treatment can be instituted to control Auto-immunity? 3. She is very diet conscious and uses oil like olive oil and exercises regularly. Lipids deranged can increse the risk od cardiac problems in the background of inflammation in the body?? 4. Clinically, she has no symptoms except mild hairfall and cold extremities at times. 5. We are planning to have a child and what precautions should we take to have a safe delivery and pregnancy right from the beginning. chances of infertility?? 6. Can you please give your recommendations. It will be highly appreciated since slowly the parameters are getting deranged.
I learned I had CLL in 2008 at age 56; unfortunately required 2 coronary stents later that year, requiring Plavix. within one month I discovered I had ITP also; so my oncologist suggested chemotx which I refused, accepting RCP therapy only(avoided fludarabine). I have had two year "remission" until recently developed respiratory infection which led to the current "Crash "
to 26,000 pltsfor which I have been started on high dose Prednisone. I show no signs of progressive CLL(am considered stage1); thus my question: I'm from large family with history of autoimmune disorders; is it possible that I too have an intercurrent autoimmmune disease also, despite CLL?
I just had 2 stents putt in my heart. I was placed on plavix and lipitor in addition to the metoporol and aspirin I was already taking. I am now urinating very frequently (every two -two and 1/2 hours). Any ideas what would cause this change in urination pattern? The heart and stents were inserted 3 weeks ago
Hello, I had a stent put in on 17of November, the one thing that continues to bother is a burning in my chest , and arms, this causes a hot sensation , with picky feeling. Had a nuke test which came out good, but still have this same problem which no one can answer, could Plavix cause this? Thank you. Cindy
Hello, I am 43, 68kg, had an MI last year, and had 2 stents put in, and am very well now. It seems even my ECG has improved. However the past 2 months or so I've noticed that I get, not breathless exactly, but I feel I need to take deep breaths. This doesn't happen always, and there is no tiredness, etc. My doc says this could be triggered by acid reflux because I'm on Aspirin+Plavix as well as Janumet (I'm somewhat diabetic) + 20mg Lipitor. I was checked at the time I was feeling this, and BP was normal. Does acid reflux cause breathlessness while exerting or even otherwise? I don't get this all the time, but it seems to be more these days (I was better when Aspirin was reduced to 75mg from 150 but was put back on 150 later. Now reduced to 81 again ). Thanks.
