Hello there and thank you so much! I am three weeks pregnant and before I knew this fact I developed a full force yeast infection. I immediatly treated it with 150mg Diflucan and one clotramizole 0.5 and the next day another one 0.2 all together with topical 0.1% anti fungal cream as well - using it liberally. I just saw that the FDA put out a warning about Diflucan - is my pregnancy in trouble? THANK YOU!!
Diflucon is an antifungal drug. Though it can be prescribed during pregnancy, it is not absolutely safe in pregnancy. Do not take more than 1 dose of Diflucan if you are pregnant. Long-term use of high doses fluconazole can harm an unborn baby or cause birth defects. I would advice you to use local preparations like Candid to treat the fungal infection rather than oral preparation like Diflucan.
