Can Cytotec Intake Lead To Abortion?

Hi, I used cytotec to abort a 3weeks pregnancy. I used it orally under my tongue and after 4 hours I started bleeding but not heavy was really light that same 4hours I was bleeding I used it again but swallowed it and since then have not been bleeding, it was just a pad half full of blood. I want to know if abortion has taken place or I should continue with it cause I don t feel abortion has taken place. Someone told me swallowing it is not effective is that true?

Hi,
Swallowing is one of the methods of drug intake, but buccal and vaginal methods are more effective. Since you self-medicated to induce the abortion, the dosage may have been insufficient. I would ask you to see a specialist for a proper clinical evaluation and get a trans-vaginal sonogram to check if the abortion has been completed. In very early pregnancy, very little bleeding is seen and often the products are passed unnoticed since they are very small. Please maintain genital hygiene. Hope this helps.
