Can Anaphylaxis Cause Acute Diverticulitis?

While traveling last week, I went into anaphylaxis after eating calamari. Along with eyes, nose, lips, and throat swelling, I vomited violently for hours and had severe abdominal distress. When I finally had a bowel movement, it was followed by bright red blood. I passed blood multiple times. After examination, the ER Dr. said the blood was likely caused by diverticulosis and I should follow up with my GI Dr. My question: Can Anaphylaxis cause acute diverticulitis?

Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query in details .

* If there is pre existing diverticula in a person , anaphylaxis condition
can give rise to acute diverticulitis with the release of endotoxins
in the circulation .

Hope this clears your doubt .

Wishing you fine recovery .
Feel free to ask any further doubts .

Regards .
