Can Actonel Be Re-started For Heartburn And Sternum Pain?

hi dr. ihave osteo porosis i am 61 yrs old female, i was on actonel once a month for 4 years, since 4 months i was suffering for severe heart burn and sternum pain , so i stopped the actonel and the problem is solved, but can i start actonel again please reply thanks

risendronate or actonel as you called will cause gastritis again when u take it
it is a known side effect

what i would have suggested under the circumstances and
what you can do
is to start a proton pump inhibitor
like omeprazole 20 mg before breakfast
it should help reduce the gastritis
syr sucralfate in addition would be a good addition
but better avoid it as far as possible
