Burning Sensation On Face And Neck, Itchiness On Face, Neck And Upper Extremities During Pregnancy. Cause?

Hi,
I am 13 weeks pregnant and occasionally (once a week, has happened 3-4 times) get a prickly burning sensation on my face and back of my neck, followed immediately by itchiness in my face, neck and upper extremities. My face gets flushed too, like I have a sunburn. These symptoms usually last for about 10-20 minutes. What might be the cause? Hormone surges? This is my 5th pregnancy and have never experienced this before. It is VERY uncomfortable. Thanks.

Thanks for the query,

Itching is a common problem in pregnancy.

Dont worry it is usually self limiting.

Apply calamine lotion

This will give you some relief.

Try to avoid any type of tablets.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
