Bruise On Toe. Purple, Spreading. Suggestions?

Hi, on a night out in January I came home and found a small purply (what looked like a) bruise on the tip of my toe. It didnt hurt at all and didnt really feel like a bruise, but I didnt know what else it could be, so presumed I must have stubbed it when I was out. It hasnt changed colour, and has spread a little bit but I thought it would have gone by now. Any ideas of what it could be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
The purple like thing is haematoma ,collection of blood.
If it gets infected,it can spread up.
Even without infection,it can expand due to strain during walking.
It is self limiting.
If there is pain, redness and fever, infection is suspected and you have to take Antibiotics and anti inflammatory drug.
Nothing to worry
It will come down.
Regards
