Body Pain. On Pristique. Does This Cause Joints Hurting?

There is a previous question just like mine on this site. I am wondering if extended use of pristique could cause joint pain? I have had blood tests, etc. They have found nothing and make me feel like a faker....I know that there is a bad problem because one morning I wake up and my left elbow hurts, next day my right leg hurts, my hips hurt, my neck hurts, etc. I have had severe withdrawals trying to get off of pristique. Today, I missed my dose and my body hurt extremely bad all over but it was different than normal which made me wonder if the pristique might be making my joints hurt and when I didn't take it, the withdrawal made it hurt in a different way. I do know that I will experience withdrawal systems that fast and I am going to try my best to get off of it this summer. But, my original question is if pristique can be the cause of my joints hurting? Oh, I sure do hope so! Now, I have the problem of trying to figure out how to get off of this awful drug. What kind of doctor should I go to to help me start the process?

Hi ,

You meant to say pristiq .Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs).Yes these drug produce joint pain

Commonly reported side effects of Pristiq include nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, stress and anxiety.

Arthralgia has been reported by people(consuming pristiq) with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis.

Hence you need to discuss with your treating doctor for adjustment of doses, need to evaluate associated joint diseases.Requires battery of blood tests also.

Meantime have calcium rich foods, and calcium supplements

Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.
