Bluish wound due to dog bite. Have pain. Have taken shots in the past. Need to worry?
I got bit by a dog almost 2 weeks ago. It was my mother s so I know she was upto date on all shots. I have been cleaning and putting antibiotic products on it and a bandage . It is black and blue and wound is closed, but still hurts a lot and the skin is very hard and sensitive around the bite. (the hard area is about the size of a silver dollar) Should I be concerned?

the hardness around your wound could be an induration which can happen due to local inflammation.The colour being black or blue also suggests inflammation/and or necrosis.
So i suggest you see your family physician to rule out a local cellulitis/abscess.
Also to take a shot of tetanus toxoid if you ve'nt taken a shot recently.
