trying to find out why my blood vessel in my left eye has burst twice in two month. the eye dr told me nothing! i remember the last time it happened I was feeling extremely tired, I got up, my body felt very heavy were my ankles would hurt. after going back to bed I felt better but when I was getting ready to put in my contacts my eye was all red. I think there some wrong but I don't know where to start since the eye doctor wasn't able to tell me anything.
Dear rvelasco001, Thanks for the question. The cause bloodvessel bursting in the eye is commonly accidental trauma, hypertension, severe cough or any activities that ends to raise the blood pressure suddenly even if for a brief while. It is known as sub conjunctival hemmorrhage, which by itself has a benign course and will clear up within 3-4 weeks, but what is important is that the underlying cause such as hypertension or cough or any other treatable cause has to be identified and treated otherwise there will be recurrence.
There are many reasons for the vessels to burst , the cause can be a collagen loss in blood vessels , you should take fruits n foods rich in vitamin c & go to a endocrinologist who can check the cause of pain in ankle
