Been On Formula Since Birth. Why Loose Stools?

dear doctor.my daughter is 5 months 20 days old,she has been taking formula since birth.recently i started solids and now have changed to the beyond 6 months formula.for the past two days my baby is having yellowish slimy loose stools and today she vomited more than often.normally she passed stools one a day o maybe once in 2 days now she has been having 2-3 stools per day.

Hi abeerah,

Thanks for writing in to Healthcare Magic!
The foods for grown up children contain more nutrients and a bit different composition then the babies.
You might be feeding the child more than she can digest.
I would advise to use the previous feed alternated with the new formula feed for about a week till the child's gut gets adjusted to the new feeding formula.
There is only adjustment issue of the gut, nothing much to be done except old-new-old-new formula like feeding alternating for a week.
