Hi, I have a very bad headache which has been there for 4 days straight now. Sometimes it feels like a slight pressure and everything feels heavy in my head. I am worried because I ws really stressed and got SUPER angry about something and it felt like my head exploded. Please tell me if it sounds liek I need to see a doc or will this go away??
The frequent headaches which get worse on emotional stress is also known as stress headache. This occurs because of emotional stress and tightening of the forehead muscles which can cause severe headache.
Kindly avoid sunlight exposure. Eat a balanced diet. Drink plenty of water. Get 6-8 hours of sleep daily.
You can take Acetaminophen or Paracetamol tablet under medical supervision for relief from the headache.
Practise Yoga for stress relief. Avoid long work-hours. Take frequent breaks at work. Avoid stress as much as possible.
If the headaches are not relieved, kindly consult your Neurologist to rule out Migraine or other causes of persistent headache as well as an Eye and ENT check up to rule out refractive error or sinusitis respectively, which can also cause headaches.
