Baby Has Purplish Red Bruise, Insect Like Bite On Hand. How To Get Relief?

Hi there, my son who is 1, has 2 insect like bites on his hand , at first they were really swollen and looked like a misquote bite, but now they are not swollen but there is bruising around them, that is purplish red color with a white mosquito looking bite in the middle that is hard, could you please help ease my mind and let me know if I should be concerned and take him to a dr.

Dear Kutekel, dont worry these things respond well to topical steroid creams. So go ahead & use a topical cream containing clobetasol propionate for eg. it should resolve in 24 hrs. The redness will respond immediately, the hardness a touch later & the colouring a week or two as in a bruise. You may want to apply an aloevera product topically after 48-72 hrs to soothe & aid pigmentation problems. Cheers & Good luck Dr Praveen Rodrigues MD

it could be a spider bite , if its not itching him then you might want to leave it alone and it will heal on it own.
