Are Stomach Pain And Dizzy Spells Related To Missing Of Iud Strings?

I have had mirena for almost a year. I have never checked my strings but, I can't find my iud strings now. I'm having slight pain in my stomach. During the last month I have also had a few dizzy spells. Should I go to the ER? Or wait to get an appointment with the doctor?

I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.

Displacement or expulsion of IUD can result in heavy bleeding, severe cramping, abnormal vaginal discharge etc.

As the IUD strings are missing, it could be a warning sign of either expelled IUD or it would've perforated the uterus.

I advice you to consult your gynaecologist for a USG pelvis to locate the missed IUD & if you gonna try IUD again, never fail to check for the strings everyday.
