General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Linika,
Welcome to HCM.
Please don't blame your self for your condition. Our body constitution is genetically determined, even before we are born and there is limitation to what we can do to alter it. We have a center in the brain called satiety center, which determines when we should be feeling hungry. In kids like you, this center does not know when to stop and this makes us constantly hungry and this in turn adds to our weight.
There are millions of kids like you all over the world and you are not the only one having this problem.
What makes a difference is the STRONG WILL to limit food intake specially the ones we like most such as ice-creams, chocolates, deep fried items etc. It would be healthy if you could replace these things with fruits and vegetables and make special effort to move out and play and interact with your friends and if possible go for regular swimming.
Even if you cannot follow all or some of these advise don't worry, but kindly do not skip classes in the school as they are extremely important in our life.
Wishing you all the best.

Dear Linika,
How old are you? It seems to me that you have an eating disorder. Eating disorders are generally associated with self esteem issues and/or depression. I would suggest that you meet a clinical psychologist or even a psychiatrist as soon as possible as early intervention helps in most cases. Do not label yourself as lazy, these negative stereotypes will not help you, you are just like anyone who needs help. What will help is to consult your school counsellor who may refer you to the appropriate professional. Or alternately you can consult a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist directly. REMEMBER there is no shame in this! Courageous people are those who admit they need help, and then seek it. You have already taken that first step by posting this query on line.
Take care. Things will improve.
