5 Year Kid, Looking Pale, Vomiting, Fever, Loss Of Appetite. Any Ideas?

My 5 year old came home from kindergarten yesterday looking very pale. A few hours later, she began vomiting and developed a fever of about 100.5, It was a warm day yesterday and I know they had recess outside. She also has a longer bus ride home. She had no other symptoms except she was very tired and no appetite. This morning she slept very late. When she got up she ate a lot and drank a full box of juice. She doesn't look pale, etc. Any idea if this is a virus or maybe something to do with heat?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

It is too early to say what is the possible cause of the symptoms described by you. I suggest that you give her paracetamol/acetaminophen to reduce the temperature and observe for the next 24 hours. Most probably it could be heat exhaustion.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.
