4 Months Old Refusing To Nurse. Any Suggestions ?

My baby is four months old and is refusing to nurse. He only nurses in his sleep. He use to eat when he was awake. He is on reflux medicine and knows how to nurse (went to lactation consultants) He show signs of hunger and easily eats baby jars but refuses to nurse. When he nurses during his sleep he s eager for more. I use to force feed him so it could be why he doesn t want to eat. I try when he s relax and quiet but as soon as he faces my breast he screams and pulls back. Any suggestions?

Pediatrician 's  Response
as you have already told your child is already suuffering from gastroesopahgeal reflux . he is now started refusing breast milk.
you can do three thing
1 give expressed breast milk slowly and more frequently ( small quantity and more frequent feeding )
2 milk expression should be as for as possible infront of baby so that his/her fear will be gradually decline and she/he will be desenstized.
3. since baby is four month of age complementary feed can be added ( but this should be energy dense and small quantity and more frequent .
4. after feeding baby should be in head elevation position .
