3 Year Old, Pain Behind Thigh. Treatment?

My child is 3 years old and suddenly experienced pain behind his right thigh. He just wants to lay down and says that it hurts. He is also crying a lot. This is not like him - he is very active and happy. He experienced this pain yesterday then went away after a couple hours. He was happy and playing this morning then experienced the pain again a few hours and has not gone away yet.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.

Such a problem could occur because of several causes. One could be trauma which might have gone unnoticed. Another could be infection. In such a scenario there will be redness and increased warmth in that area. A physical examination is required to confirm the diagnosis. Suggest you to contact your paediatrician for the same. Antibiotics may be give by your paediatrician if he suspects infection.
Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
