Hi Dear

Welcome to the board of Health Care Magic.

There is always a cause of fever, Fever is only the representing symptom of some disease inside the body.

Urinary infection is quite common in female patients with frequent relapses.

As you are worried about the pus cells in the urine routine examination. Pus cells means some sort of bacterial infection in the urine (UTI). But many times pus cells are also seen in simple viral infection.

To confirm the urine infection one should always go for the urine culture and sensitivty test before staring any antibiotics. If it comes positive then it is quite helpful in eradicating the infection, as exact bug is known and the drug most senstive for that bug it known.

So please when ever there is fever, please immediately go for the Urine culture before starting any antibiotic, many times urine cuture do not show any positive result, but if it comes positive then we will be able to know the exact bug and exact antibiotic to be used. And thus finally we can treat her completely.

Hope your question is answered and is useful.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

6-7 pus cells per HPF is normal in urine reports. Upto 10/hpf is normal. So you need not worry about that.

Does he have any associated complaints like cough, cold or burning urination or increased frequency of urination etc?

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
