Hi,
Your friend can try the following simple changes to her daytime and pre-bedtime routine:
Keep a regular sleep schedule, going to sleep and getting up at the same time each day, including the weekends.
Set aside enough time for sleep.
Make sure your bedroom is dark, cool, and quiet.
Turn off your TV, smartphone, iPad, and computer a few hours before your bedtime.
Regards.

Hi,
Thanks for query,
Your friend is suffering from insomnia requires evaluation.
It seems that he might have some stress, tension or anxiety resulting in insomnia.
Go into detail and find out the cause and then counseling will help.
Do hard physical work or exercise during the day so that he will get sleep automatically.
Keep his mind busy through out the day,
Sleeping pills is not useful to treat insomnia,it will produce habit.
Consult Psychiatrist and seek his advice.
Ok and bye.

Hello.welcome.She is too young to have such a prolonged insomnia. This probably means a deep rooted psychological stress and anxiety.Ideally she should be seen and counseled by a psychiatrist. Please don't give any sedative or tranquilizer without the advice of treating physician.Good.luck.

Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.

Thanks for the query.

Your friend is suffering from Chronic insomnia. At this early age Insomnia could be due to excessive stress or depression. Make sure whether she is irritable or having poor concentration and memory. These are all the associated symptoms of Insomnia. She may require a complete health examination with a complete psychiatric analysis. A rapid onset short acting sleeping pills can be given as a remedy but I don't advice it to her. Otherwise I would like to suggest you to take Behavioral therapy, Sleep restriction therapy,Relaxation,Yoga, Exercises and meditation.

I hope i answered yuur query.

Good luck to you and your friend.

Take care.

Wish you good health.

hi well come to HCM.
It seems she is having severe anxiety disorder leading to sleep disorder. Looking to
her age she should avoid drug like alprazolam, because she can become dependant
on it. But drug like inderal a B-blocker can be used at this age, but associted depression
must be ruled out. Better consult your doctor and go as per his guidance.

INSOMNIA A VERY DISTURBING CONDITION NEEDS PROPER PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION.

IT IS NOT A DISEASE BUT SYMPTOM OF SOME OTHER DISEASES,RANGING FROM STRESS TO ENDOCRINE PROBLEM ONE EXTREME ,TO DRUG ABUSE AND CONSTANT USE OF NICOTINE OR ANY LONG TERM USE OF MANY VARIETY OF DRUGS ,

TELL HER TO STOP ANY DRUG IF SHE IS USING,AVOID COFFEE OR TEA AT NIGHT ,ADVISE HER TO MAINTAIN STRICT BEDTIME ,AND DISALLOW DAYTIME SLEEPING,BREATHING EXERCISES ARE HELPFULL,

IF PROBLEM PERSIST PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION IS MUST.
EVERY EXPERT WHO HAVE ANSWERED THIS QUESTION HAS SAME OPINION OF AVOIDING ANY SLEEPING PILL FOR THIS AGE,MORE EVER OVER THE COUNTER SLEEPING PILL WITHOUT PROPER PRESCRIPTION IS BANNED .

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum
This is a very young age to get insomnia. it may happen due to various causes like excessive stress, psychological cause, some inherited tendency etc. please find out the cause behind that, then only any doctor can treat her out.some counselling is needed to help her worries through parents or friends. indulge herself in various rehabilitating activities like study, reading, meditation, sports(is the best), hang outs etc to divert her, good physical exercise always proves a remedy.
also consult a physician to get her some relaxing drugs though the use of which is not much advisable but consultation is required.
I hope I answered your query. Wish you good health.
