12 Year Old, Emphentigo, Yeast Infection. Recommended Bleach Bath, Topical Ointment, Infection Still Present. Safe Remedy?
my daughter is 12 yrs. old. she had a case of emphentigo and a yeast infection. She seen her doctor and was recomended bleach baths, a topical ointment for the emphentigo and a 7 day cream for the yeast infection. everything seems fine except she still has the yeast infection which is spread from the front of her vaginal area to the back of her buttocks. What can i do?
Possibilities for a relapse or a re-infection of yeast: 1. The antibiotics given for Impetigo may be like to exaggerate the yeast infection. 2. Topical creams alone sometimes may not be able to eradicate the yeast infection totally. Oral anti-fungal antibiotics have to be supplemented in the treatment. 3. Any other source of Yeast infection like nail bed, web space and gut has to be looked for and has to be attended promptly. 4. A faulty cleaning habit of the bottom may possible for reinfection of yeast infection. Cleaning should be carried out from front to back, not from the back to front. If taken care all of these points, your daughter will become totally free from yeast infection. DR S.Muruigan
