default
Posted on Mon, 22 Jul 2019
Question: i have prostatis according to doctor check, but i had intercourse before diagnosis without a condom with new partner hence i think it could be bacterial. doctor has checked me for sti and they said i dont have sti they did urine and blood test results were negative. the doc gave me doxycycline for one week then told me to stop after my symptom improved. my penis still stings/feels sensative and feels inflamed abit although it has improves slightly over the course of few weeks as doctor stated. i masterbate quite often and i think this may have been cause for prostatis but im not sure could you clarify? as im also having erectile dysfunction but im trhing to stop masterbation to see if this will heal the dysfunction its been 5 days and also if i stop masterbation will this heal my prostatis or help it? also are there any other natural remedies i can take for this? i also suffer from degenerative disc disease in my lower back /spine. i dont know if this has a role to play in my condition also please could you clarify.

Brief Answer:
You seem to have Urethritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted pain in penis that you have is mostly due to inflammation of urethra (Urethritis ) due to frequent masturbation that you have been indulged with .

In view of having unprotected sex very recently you need to do following basic tests to confirm the diagnosis
1) Urine culture
2) Semen examination and culture .

As Prostatitis takes long time to get cured completely continue taking Doxicycline twice daily along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily for 3 weeks .

Avoid masturbation or unsafe sex till you get cured completely .

The problem of Erectile Dysfunction that you are facing is mainly psychogenic in nature .Following measure will help you to boost up your confidence and getting good erection.
1) Practice regular exercise for 45 minutes followed by meditation for 1/2 an hour in the morning.
2) Take high protein diet rich in vegetables and fruits and Vitamin A,C,D,E.and Zinc
3)Take anti oxidants like Almonds 5-6 everyday..

Thank you for response doctor

I don%E2%80%99t think I have urethritis as my urine was tested and as far as I am aware there was no infection detected. And my penis does not pain or burn when I urine. It%E2%80%99s just a soreness feeling during the day generally on my penis. I think most likely it is a prostatis inflammation as the doctor said. He tested my prostate with machine and he said the reading was high so it was inflamed.

1. Regarding the doxycycline and antibiotics you mentioned... my doctor told me to stop after one week as it should heal. Should I go back to the doctor and continue this medication?

2. I would like to just try not to masterbate or do sex for a long period like one or two months first to see if this improves my symptoms before going to the doctor so I know if the masterbation is having a major role in my condition.

3. I have canesten cream the last time I saw the doctor he said he couldn%E2%80%99t see any inflammation signs on my penis so he told me I can stop using it . But should I continue applying the canesten cream for inflamation?

4. Isit safe to go into swimming pool with my condition / will the bacteria of the pool affect my penis in anyway?

5. It has already been 1/2 months since I had this condition how long do you think it will take to treat? And I read online that prostatis can come back again even after it has been healed how can one prevent this?

6. Are there any natural or herbal remedies or vitamins I can take to treat my prostatis?

7. what do you think is the underlying cause to my condition was it unsafe sex or over masterbation or can it be both?
