Question: hi doctor,
I am a 22-year-old boy, last month I performed an electromyography of the upper limbs a cause of a shock sensation in the tip of the middle finger. the response of electromyography is negative, so it seems that I have no nerve damage. but in spite of this I still feel at certain moments some kind of shock in the tip of my middle finger and sometimes even in the ring finger.
what can this problem cause me ??
Thanks in advance

Brief Answer:
there can be several causes which should get evaluated....

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per your history, it may be due to nerve damage which should get evaluated. Electromyography measures electric activity of muscles and its related diseases.

So for further assessment, I would suggest you to consult with neurophysician for detailed clinical examination. He may procure MRI neck, nerve conduction studies, Vitamin B12 level, blood sugar/calcium level as per evaluation to rule out any other possible causes of nerve compression/neuropathy.

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition. Take balanced diet. Continue physiotherapy as advised.

Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further.
