Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for posting your query.

Champix contains verenicline which is a prescription medication used to treat smoking addiction.

Zoloft contains serteraline which is an antidepressant.

As such there are no reported interactions between Zoloft and Champix and these can be taken together.

Zoloft is a type of tricyclic antidepressant and when you are smoking, components of tobacco smoke can cause tricyclic antidepressants to be removed from the body faster than normal. When you stop smoking, they are removed slower, so their blood levels may increase. so you may need a dose adjustment of the antidepressant when you stop smoking.

Also Champix which has been marketed by Pfizer; Pfizer recently updated the safety information associated with varenicline, noting that "some patients have reported changes in behavior, agitation, depressed mood, suicidal thoughts or actions. So you may notice changes in the mood or worsening of depression with this drug. Use it only after a doctor’s prescription.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Regards.
