When Does Menstruation Occur After Undergoing Abortion?
Question: Hello Ma'm,
I had abortion in XXXXXXX I had heavy bleeding for 20 days after that.I under went ultrasound after 4 weeks and it came out clear. Still after 3 months I din't get my periods back even though I had a spot a while ago but no regular periods. I undergo TVS also and that too came out clear and completely normal.
Twice in my menstrual cycle's life time I had hormonal problem because of which I had missed my periods for 2 months.
I am not clear whether to use sysron n or not this time.
I consulted another Gynecologist and she asked me to get BhcG test. I haven't taken that yet.Do you recommend the same?

There is no need to undergo bHCG testing rather take tablet micronised progesterone 300 ug (brand susten or gestofit) twice a day for 5 days and after stopping it you will get your periods in 2-5 days time.
It has a different form of progesterone and unlike sysron N it is safe even if you are carrying another pregnancy and thus safe even if you are pregnant and wish to retain that pregnancy.
In case you are pregnant you will not get withdrawal bleeding even a week after leaving the progesterone. Discuss about this medication with your doctor.
