What Precautions Should I Take To Reduce The Chances Of Blood Clots In My Lower Limbs?

Posted on Wed, 28 Feb 2024
Question: There are blood clots in my lower limbs and I am taking drugs to inhibit their migration to other parts of my body. I am simultaneously pursuing an exercise program designed to correct partial paralysis in those lower limbs due to spinal surgery. What precautions should I take to reduce the chances that the exercise activities will cause one or more blood clots to become loose and thus able to migrate to other parts of my body?

Brief Answer:
You can do basic simple exercise

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for the query.
I have gone through the reports and I can understand your concerns.
You can definitely perform basic simple exercises like stretching and jogging. In fact exercise help for rapid resolution of swelling and discomfort.
However you have to continue the drugs and seek medical attention when there is chest pain or breathlessness.
Thanks

Thanks very much for your helpful response Dr. XXXXXXX Would I be right in supposing that only time we might sense that one or more blood clots has (or have) moved away from their original location in the lower limbs is when they get close to a major organ whose function they might disrupt?
