What Is The Role TT Vaccines After An Injury?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I got bit by a budgerigar (my pet bird) today morning and my finger started bleeding slightly after a while. The would is not bad and does not hurt much but I just wanted to know if I should take any vaccination for this. the bird which bit me is healthy and it was born in my house about a year back and still stays inside without contact with outside birds.

Hi and thanks for your query.
Tetanus shot maybe updated. Its booster has to be taken atleast once in 10 years.
Also take appropriate antiseptic measures like washing the site with soap and water and rinsing with antiseptic solution like dettol or savlon, etc since bird's mouth may have bacteria.
Apart from this I dont think any other measure is required.
