A normal sugar level
1. after not eating (fasting) for at least 8 hours- is less than 100 mg/dL
2. And 2 hours after eating- it's less than 140 mg/dL


If,
you’re peeing more, always thirsty, and you’ve gained or lost a significant amount of weight a fasting sugar level test or an oral glucose tolerance test is done to confirm the diagnosis.
After fasting for 8 hours if it’s higher than 126 mg/dL(Fasting plasma glucose test).
After fasting for 8 hours, then Two hours later on having a glucose drink if your sugar level is higher than 200 mg/dL(Oral glucose tolerance test).
