Question: Hi...I'd like to know what the damage is to a cervix if I have an abortion at 13 weeks

Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Cervical damage in abortion occurs only when the gynecologist tries to dialate the cervix too much or too fast.
Most of the doctors are very much experienced and avoid doing the above measures.
So don't panic in case you had that procedure done by a gynecologist.
Also in some patients muscle tone of cervix is low inherently so are more prone to damage even with simple dilatation.
All you can do is to get an ultrasound 6-8 weeks after abortion and ask the doctor to see for internal is diameter which if comes normal then nothing to worry.
