Posted on Tue, 20 Jan 2015
Question: Hi back I'm 37 yrs old.. in May I was having some abdominal pains, doc did ultrasound and transvaginal and it read : Uterus measures 8cm in lenght , 3.5cm in AP and 6.7 in transverse dimension...uterus shows abnormal texture with evidence of multiple focal solid nodules, suggestive of fibroid uterus. And one 13mmx11mm cyst on the right adnexa , they advised on diet and I felt no more pain until now, and now i have pain for 9 days ,with leg and lower back pain, GYN did a pelvic exam today and said my uterus was enlarged, and also recommended a repeated ultrasound.

Brief Answer:
Pain due to adnexal cyst and uterine fibroids

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam,

Thank you so much for writing in Healthcare Magic!

I understand your concern and feel sorry for the pain you are going through.Generally adnexial cysts do not cause any symptoms and goes away on its own.But sometimes larger cysts can cause a dull ache that may radiate to your lower back and thighs.

Uterine fibroids symptoms too include backache and pelvic pain alongwith other menstrual issues. An ultrasound would be the best thing to do right now to know exact status of fibroids.

Your doctor might prescribe you medication or if required can refer you for surgery. There is nothing to worry, since none among this is cancerous.

Hope I answered your query.Feel free to ask more.
