What Does This Carotid Doppler Test Result Indicate?
Question: Dear doctor I would like to know if bp readings is always low and the pulse readings are always very high is there a possibility of a heart attack
Today Monday,31August 2015 mom went for Carotid Doppler at the hospital the assessment report says:
No major vessel stenosis
Artherosclerotic plaques in right CCA Bifurcatin and in the left ICA

Well it can be seen during a heart attack but it doesn't predict the possibility of heart attack. It can also be seen due to any conditions that drops Blood pressure. For example ,
1. Heart Failure.
2. Dehydration.
3. Liver Failure.
4. Severe Infection.
5. Severe Dehydration.
As of the Doppler report is concerned well some atherosclerotic plaques in carotid arteries is usually seen , it can be accepted as long as no stenosis is present.
It would be better to put your mother on Cholesterol lowering drug like Statin and anti platelet drug like Ecospirin . Kindly ask your doctor for prescription.

She got swollen ankle and feet since Wednesday,26-08-2015 they are worsening, but she went for review to look at the Carotid Doppler report they gave her metformin ridaq and aspirin. She was not given any thing for swollen ankle & feet it is more on the ankle
1. She do not walk
2. Sleeps a lot
3. Fatigue
4. soft porridge & pap mixed with water only
I think starch that she consume a lot has developed kwashiorkor. What can I use for home remedy. At home we have hand massage operator it will assist with blood circulation. Her next review is on Wednesday, 07-10-205 she is seen by different doctors when its review time.

my apologies after Carotid Doppler she complained of eye irritation and sensitivity to light in the house the same day of her test. I gave her eye drops to help her she still complains my brother didn't mention that during the review.May be my brother forgotten because he was promised to be clapped for telling the doctor that she don't walk.

Well Kwashiorkor is a possiblity but she needs to be evlauated for other causes of swelling like
1. Low protein levles.
2. Kidney problems.
3. Thyroid problems.
4. Heart Problems.
Well I am pretty much surprised why she was not evaluated for her swelling and was just advised for Doppler.
Kwashiokor can be correct by increasing her calorie intake which should include more protein and fat food . Add more of vegetables and fruits to her diet.
But I do advise for the evaluation of above mentioned problems by getting the following tests done.
Complete Hemogram, Liver function test, Serum Creatinine and Serum TSH.
Regarding Eye Irritation and sensitivity it could be either infection or Vitamin A deficiency. I need to know which Eye drop was given to her before advising anything on this.
Kindly let me know the detail.
