Hi Doctor,

One thing I forgot to mention. Right now she is suffering from a little high pressure(155/95) which is leading to a little pain on her head.

Thanks and Regards,

Brief Answer:
MRI report is almost normal.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for posting your query.

Well I went through the MRI report, it shows gliosis in periventricular region. This is not a significant finding. Gliosis is in simple terms a scar that has happened as a part of healing process. There is nothing that needs to be done for this.

As of her pressure is concerned there is no need to do anything now but repeat check her pressure after 3 days once and let me know. If it is also still high let her follow low salt diet and do daily walking for 20 minutes.

For headache just plain Paracetamol is sufficient.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask.

Regards.

Hi Doctor,

As I already discussed with you about the Retrobulbar Neuritis issue my mother has been facing from last November. She can see around 60%-70%. How long will it take to heal? She cannot read Newspapers or see person at a distance.

Thanks and Regards,
XXXX

Hi,

Forgot to mention one thing. She discontinued Ethambutol and Isoniazid around 8.5 months back.

Her MRI report also shows something about Retrobulbar Neuritis.

Thanks and Regards,

Brief Answer:
Let her observe for 4-6 months.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Well she can wait for 4-6 months and observe for any improvement in her vision . But after 6 months any further improvement in her vision can't be expected.

The findings seen in MRI ( mild blurring of orbital part of Left Optic Nerve ) doesn't indicate active disease ( Retrobulbar neuritis ) but it just shows the damage done due to past neuritis.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Full recovery may not be possible.

Detailed Answer:
HI Mr XXXXXXX

Well sorry to say but full recovery may not be possible . If at all she gets 85-90 % of her vision back then that is quite a good recovery.

Regards.

Hi Doctor,

When MRI was done at the beginning it only showed mild retrobulbar neuritis. Also the opthalmologist confirmed that the damage was very less. Still there is no chance of recovery?

Thanks and Regards,

Brief Answer:
Damage is little but it seems to be permanent.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Well if full recovery was to happen it would have happened by now . We can expect some more improvement in her vision in 3-4 months but not 100%.

See the damage is little but it seems to be permanent.

Note that this is my personal opinion.
