What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

Question: My son blood test results came back as follows:
1. MCHC 36.0 g/dL High, and
2. ALT (SGPT) 33 IU/L High.

What does it mean?

Hi and welcome.
This is just slightly elevated MCHC and SGPT which is not significant and isnt indicating any disorder if other tests are fine. These findings may vary from day to day,everything below 40 is still not considered as pathologic. I suggest to repeat test in 2-3 weeks and then plan further work up if findigs are rising. At this point there is no for further evaluation. WIsh you good health. Regards

However, if we retest and the numbers are elevated>40 what would that indicate.

Then it may be sign of certain liver or galbladder disorders but still not something concerning. In this case you should do CT scan of the abdomen and check viral markers for hepatitis. Elevated ALT is also seen in smokers and even after small amount of alcohol taken day or 2 before test.
