Brief Answer:
There are multiple problems which can explain his symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I have gone through attached MRI scan report of your father and understand that there are these possibilities for his symptoms.

First of all it seems that he is either having fluctuations in blood pressure or high blood pressure which causing multiple changes in the brain and other symptoms.

Secondly he has bulging disc in cervical spine which can be enough to cause loss of balance and pain.

There is ankylosing spondylitis which can also result in balance disturbance.

You need to consult a neurologist rather than alternative medicine practitioner. At present I feel with right treatment he will be alright.

I must inform you that there are definite changes in his MRI and they need to be addressed as soon as possible,

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards

Thanks Doctor for the detailed answer. Blood pressure during routine checkups always stayed within safe limit, so are there any other tests(blood) that can help determine more info around this? Just so that I'm clear, Does this mean right medication (as treatment) is suffice or a surgery is warranted?

Brief Answer:
Medications will suffice

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

If repeated blood pressure measurement are within normal limits there is no need to go for something else. Even age is associated with changes observed in his MRI so this can part can be ignored.

Regarding other two things (Ankylosing spondylitis and bulging of disc) medications and physiotherapy are the primary line of treatment. In case he does not get adequate benefit with medications and physiotherapy surgery can be considered at a lat treatment resort. The chances of needing surgery is just below 30% and there is 70% chance he will be alright medications only.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
