Brief Answer:
No medicine needed.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Your son seems to be suffering from infective hepatitis. Udiliv would not help. It is effective only in case of cholestatic jaundice, where the bile flow is hampered. It is unlikely to provide benefits in this case. The liver needs rest. The liver has to metabolize medicines. So, any medicine is simply an additional taxation on the liver. Hence it is better to leave the liver alone and just to stay on a light bland diet. Things would gradually return to normal on its own.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards

Doctor my son is a little better but he gets mild fever off and on as he goes for work off and on. I got his USG of upper abdomen on 4-12-16 done it says liver in size 149 mm with heterogenous parenchymal. hepatic vessels are not dilated. Enlarged spleen but no focal lesion seen. Splenic vein is not dilated. Small thick walled gall bladder (? Consistent with hepatitis). Lumen is clear. CBS,pancreas, portal vein, kidneys are normal. He is continuing with UDILIV 300.

Brief Answer:
Findings indefinite

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

I have gone through the report. The findings do not point to anything concrete but could be due to effect of hepatitis. You can get a hepatitis panel test done. Apart from continuing Udiliv and rest there is hardly anything to be done.
