Question: My ANA WAS POSITIVE ANA Titer 1:160, Speckled Pattern. So far Negative for RNP. XXXXXXX SCI 70, SS-A/RO AND SS-B/LA. With the ANA TITER that high with Speckled pattern is it pretty likely that I have Lupus. I am being sent to a Neurologist but I can't get in to see him until September 30th.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern..

Well it seems you've uploaded the Same report of Scl 70 antibody 5 times , well it's in normal range also..

Yes as per your description of the lab investigations, you should be clinically examined by a Rheumatologist and not a neurologist, unless there's any suspicion of any neurological involvement..

Yes, lupus is certainly a possibility but it has to be analyzed and diagnosed by a Rheumatologist and not a neurologist..

So can you please let me know your symptoms which your experiencing, so that I can guide you more specifically..

Awaiting for your response..

Kind Regards

I have been extremely fatigued, doesn't matter if I get 4 0r 8 hours sleep. I already use a Bi-Pap machine for sleep apnea. I have been experiences tremors/shakes/jerks, mostly my right side. This leaves me a bit shaky and unsteady at times. The thing that has distributed me the most is the trouble with my memory, mostly short term and I loose my thought process a lot. I had a brain CT-Scan and that was normal. I have trouble absorbing B12 so I give myself injections every two weeks.

Thank you, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
follow-up consultation..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome back,
Thanks for following up,

Well, all those symptoms can simply be a cumulative effect of Vit B12 deficiency also, so continue the supplementation as you have been advised by your Doctor..

However, there can be a whole variety of different disorders which can cause this at the same time including even sleep apnea on long term.. i do believe that you must be using your BiPAP properly with proper fitting mask and settings, if any doubt, then do consult your respiratory therapist to have a look at it and an Arterial Blood gas examination to rule out any underlying CO2 retention..

However memory loss at any point along with all those other features should be evaluated in details and that's why you must've been referred to the Neurologist..

No, i'm afraid CT-scan of brain won't provide much details in this regard, as you'll be requiring MRI-Brain(with diffusion study) after seeing the Neurologist..

30th September seems quite late, so if possible, please try to get hold of another one in the meanwhile..as these symptoms must need to be examined clinically in details to rule out significant disorder/s..

Let me know if there's any further queries..

Take Care
Kind Regards
