Question: Hello Dr. My stool analysis shows Mucus present and pus cells 2-4/HPF,Calprotectin in stool 405.6 Creatinine 1.3mg, and SGPT 75 U/L.
My doctor suggests that this maybe due to stomach ulcers, and has recomended to take a colonoscopy. I have no bloody stools, except occasion diarrhea and regular gastro esophageal reflux. Currently I am prescribed ESOMEPRAZOLE 40mg tablet and I also had a sudden onset of hypertension a week ago which is now being controlled with Candesartan 16 mg.
Based on these what do you suggest my condition be?

Brief Answer:
Yes colonoscopy is better to rule out inflammatory bowel diseases

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern.Mucus and pus in stools and high Calprotectin levels in stools should be evaluated for inflammatory bowel disease and yes colonoscopy is the right way to go with it as your doctor recommended. Along with it, continue supportive care for your acid reflux problem, maintain good diet and lifestyle. Keep an eye on yoru blood pressure and hope for the best.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
