Question: Dr.I just done the LFT and the report is Bilirubin Total 1.45,direct 0.51 indirect 0.94 and serum icteric index is 11 units is it normal or high level

Thank you Very much.Results:serum bilirubin : total ;1.45 direct:0.51,indirect:0.94 serum icteric index:11 units sgot: 24.2 sgpt:28.2 serum alkaline phosphatase: 61.2 serum proteins- total:7.19 albumin 4.22 globulin: 2.97 a/g ratio: 1.4:1
and all other tests like urea creatine anti HAV igm HBsAG BLOOD COUNT ARE normal.

I have consulted a doctor and he told that i have jaundice and prescribed leveril forte tab for 15 days (morning and eve) but i have put preventive injection for jaundice 4 years before and it is 10 years valid.also last two months i have not taken any nonveg and alcohol since i was in fasting for easter.so kindly give me your comments.
Also can i eat non veg ?

Jaundice is a symptom.
Yellow eyes and urine are features of jaundice. I do not think you have these.

You are not having jaundice.

The bilirubin is only mildly raised.

Since the enzymes(SGOT , SGPT and Alkaline phosphatase) are within normal limits, there is no need to worry.

Repeat LFT after 3 months.
