Brief Answer:
hi

Detailed Answer:
a small cyst in the kidney is a routine anatomical variation and is of no clinical significance but , a scar can be significant. many a times 'scar' of longstanding duration can lead to a small cyst. a scar can be due to infection which is unusual in men unless they have diabetes or a stone disease. you need to undergo a DMSA scan to know the presence of scars other than the one seen in the ultrasound.

The report also suggetss that there was an infection in the kidney and adjacent urine collecting system. You need to clarify

2. Did you pass a stone in the urine
3. Were you treated for Urine infection any time
4. Were you operated for kidney for any other issue
5. are you on any other medication that decreases your immune system

Brief Answer:
Acute episode

Detailed Answer:
You must have had an episode of urine infection which affected the kidney. This can happen with out the knowledge of that individual. But, Urine infections among men is unusual and should be investigated further.

You please get DMSA scan initially and so that we can see further what next can be planned.
