What Does Positive UPT After 8 Weeks Of Abortion Indicate?

Question: I had an abortion on august 19 at four weeks two weeks later i had a negative ultrasound its been eight weeks and i have not gotten a period i went to the doctors yesterday and it showed that i was still pregnant but i have not had any signs like before and just feel like im getting my period could i still be pregnant

I can understand your concern, though.

It is true that a pregnancy test can be positive up to 8 weeks after the miscarriage. So pregnancy test can be false positive during this duration.

But sometimes it happens that ovulation occurs as early as 1-2 weeks after the miscarriage.

To affirm the result you should go for blood test for beta HCG one week apart to see whether its level is decreasing or increasing, if level will decreasing it means you are not pregnant.

Hence please do not get tense wait for your results.

Thank you that has put my mind at ease i will be doing the first blood test later today but how is it that the first urine test after the abortion showed negative and a month later it came out positive
