default
Posted on Tue, 28 Apr 2015
Question: I have had stomach distress since January 2015. Initially the pain came and went. In February, the pain became more frequent, Some days I didn't eat anything. I took a 14 day regimen of Prisolec. While using the Prisolec, I felt no discomfort. As soon as I stopped taking the Prisolec, my stomach distress started up again! What now? I can't take Prilosec for four months

Brief Answer:
Upper GI endoscopy is recommended for you to rule out below mentioned conditions

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am
I had gone through your question erythema diligently and I can understand your concern

Looking at your history and relief with prisolac (omeprazole) , this could be due to a condition related to stomach hyperacidity like
Gastritis or inflammation of stomach lining
GERD or acid reflux and regurgitation
stomach ulcer or acid peptic disease
gastric cancer

in my opinion you should consult a gastroenterologist for upper GI endoscopy and a biopsy if need be

meanwhile please follow these guidelines
continue with prisolac
avoid fatty fried spicy and junk food or carbonated drinks
have plenty of fresh fruits and steamed vegetables
have curd in lunch and milk at bed time
avoid excessive stress and just relax enjoy your life

I hope you will find my response informative and helpful please feel free to ask for further clarification i will gladly answer you

wishing you good health
Regards
