What Does Pain Behind The Ear On Sudden Head Movement Indicate?

default
Posted on Wed, 16 Sep 2015
Question: Yesterday as I sat at the computer, got tired, and leaned my head bent down, toward the armrest, I got a sharp whip in the left back of the head, behind the ear.
It did last for 1 second and then it was gone.

I feel a small pressure on the spot, as if some was pushing a finger into my head.
I have it all the time. I got those feelings next day in the afternoon and have had it for 2 days. It doesnt hurt but I dont like it.

I think a nerve is beeing pinched.

1. What do you think this is?

2. Do you think it has to do with the "sharp whip"?
If so why wouldnt I feel it same day it happened?

3. Do you think time can heal? After some days it might get over?

4. What should I do now? I mean how could the doctor solve this? Treatment?

5. Can this be anxiety for some reason?

Please help me.
Thx :)

Brief Answer:
Possibility of muscle streching

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
As per your narration the pain behind the ear after sudden drooping of head may be due to stretching of muscle insertion( sternocleidomastoid).
As the pain is very localized and not associated with radiation of pain any other neurological symptoms , the possibility of serious disease is unlikely.
The symptoms will improve day by day and do not require any specific investigations or treatment.
You can use local pain reliever ointment for pain.
It is less likely to be anxiety associated but you need not to worry at this point of tome. Be calm.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
